Egads! It’s been forever since I last posted something. Ack, I don’t think I’ve actually drawn anything since the last post either (´‿` ‘ ). I should probably get back to doing that one of these days.
I haven’t been just lounging about though. Behold, the fruits of my labor: the Giant Paopu Fruit Pillow. This is the end result of a week of sitting down, staring off into space, tracing, cutting, sewing, velcroing, stuffing, realizing I’m an idiot, unstuffing, washing, velcro fixing, re-stuffing, gluing, more tracing, more cutting, more sewing, cutting loose thread, prancing around, hugging it, refusing to let go, lint rolling, more hugging.
The last image is my concept sheet where I scribbled numerous numbers and stuff. If you look really closely, you’ll notice some trig going on in there. :/
Some technical stuff: about 3 yards of Soft & Comfy Fabric-Yellow Plain, 1/2 yard of Soft & Comfy Fabric-Green Plain , 12 feet of velcro, 3- 16oz bags of cluster stuffing, yellow-green thread (because I couldn’t find any yellow in the house), hunter green thread, manual labor. Aside from the manual labor and thread, the materials cost $49.50 (not including tax). I’m charging my friend $10 for manual labor. :/ This baby stands 4ft tall and is probably much larger than your average baby. Comprised of 30 triangles, this fruit separates so you can share it with someone you hold dear.
“Hey, now that we’ve shared a paopu fruit, does that mean we’re official?”
